Dusky tones: smokey blue and lavender

Perhaps it's the overcast weather , but I just adore the dusky tones in the Manhattan home of Calvin Klein designer Francisco Costa. The combination of soft lavender grey with black, white and gold accents has to be one of my all time favourites. There's something a little sultry and luxurious, yet still toned down and relaxed about it, I find it really soothing. The perfect retreat for a dark and stormy afternoon. All you need is the perfect tea set to go with it (I'm thinking something white trimmed with gold...)

P.S. more dusky tones in another of my favourite bachelor pads

Wow, his home is wonderful!!! I love his book collection. The colors all go well with his overall scheme. And that chair? amazing.

Such an elegant combination of colours - and one that becomes the perfect foil for brighter splashes of artwork.

Love this! And I love the term "smokey blue." So evocative. You should work for a makeup company or something and name all the shades.

I loved that everyone seemed to pick a different favourite thing in this space - there are so many to choose from. It's one of my favourites in a long time (although pretty much every one that I post is a favourite...)

DB - that would be a really fun job! I wonder how I'd go about applying...
