I have had a recent copy of Elle Decor lying face down on the coffee table for the last couple weeks. Normally I would never choose seeing an advertisement over the beautiful interior featured on the front cover, but the blue and white plates by Hermes would keep are so pretty that every time I reach to flip it over, I pause and decide to leave it upside down for a little while longer. I have an ongoing obsession with blue and white dinnerware. It's one of those classic palettes I find myself instinctively drawn to time after time. This new pattern, Bleus d'ailleurs by Hermes is especially special, bold graphic patterns that are thoroughly modern, yet reminiscent of eras past - 1960's graphic pop art and mid-century Scandinavian patterns or even ancient Greek pottery. It's this ambiguity of time that makes it so timeless and no doubt keep me just as much in love with it fifty years from now as I am today. If it's possible for a human and a set of porcelain dinnerware to enjoy an enduring love affair, I'm ready to propose right now.

These are so so pretty- the saturated blue and graphic pattern is perfection.
These are like perfect plates for a summer in Greece (:
these are really beautiful ... I couldn't do all blue & white again (did that in the 80's) but I would like to have some of these to intermingle for those evenings when I feel like adding a little somethin, somethin :)

post script: don't forget - navy + black = chic.
I love blue and white, however when done by Hermes it is elevated to a whole new height!
I should have guessed - Hermes - the perfect blue and white!!
So pretty! Love all the patterns with the simple blue and white color combination!
These really are a perfect mix of old and new...and a favorite color combo. I can see why you've left the magazine upsidedown!
