    Watch this weekend...

    Yes, New York City is definitely one of my very favourite places to be in Autumn, something about the season just makes me think of brownstones. One of my very favourite brownstone movie sets is Meg Ryan's home from 'You've Got Mail'. While the film spans several seasons, I always think of it as a Fall movie. I just loved Joe and Kathleen's sweet, witty banter and the above quote is a favourite of mine.

    I think Kathleen's adorable shabby chic apartment would be the perfect place to enjoy an autumn weekend (and maybe re-read Pride and Prejudice? :) ). Failing being able to climb into the movie set, I think this would be the perfect rental on a rainy autumn evening. In the theme of the movie, I think a lovely warm quilt and a mug of tea would be the perfect accessories.

    {A big thank you to Her Name was Lola for so perfectly capturing one of my all-time favourite movie quotes - my face lit up when I saw this!}

    Trudi - well a movie rental may be a little cheaper than an airline ticket to start. But I highly recommend New York in the fall!

    i opened a shop and named it after "kathleen kelly's" bookstore in the movie, "the shop around the corner".
    i have loved this movie forever and i adore kathleen's apartment!

    I love this movie too. It still makes me cry & laugh at the same time. So sad that she had to close her store!

    How sweet you are!

    I love the screen captures you've featured from the film {talk about apartment envy!} Just how dreamy is Kathleen Kelly's brownstone? I could watch it every day + never tire.

    Cheers.

    I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who was enamored by Kathleen Kelly's decor! Ever since that movie I use it as a mental reference when decorating my own home. The best definition I can give it is French Country. Do you think that's accurate?
