    The Benefits of a Bicycle

    All of the above reasons and more are what put a bicycle at the top of my wish list at the moment. I can't believe it's already July and I still haven't jumped in and bought one. I dream of looking chic and Parisienne, gliding around in a summer dress like the girl below. All I need is a bouquet of fresh wild flowers and a baguette - and the bicycle, of course.

    In addition to the fear of mad traffic and inhaling exhaust fumes, part of my hesitation is the whole question of bicycle storage. Bicycles in the hallway can be a nuisance and look so cluttered. Perhaps the right bike could be a piece of installation art as below?

    Or, when all else look up for your inspiration will come from above... in this case, above the table on the wall! I love this clever storage idea, only problem is I don't think I'm
    tall enough to get it down...

    Whatever the delay, I've decided there's no need for further delay - I've made it my mission to find (or borrow my sister's) bicycle. Wish me luck!

    Do you cycle to work or around town? Any tips or advice?

    Nice! (especially the first pic)
    I live in Holland: We are like the "country of bicycles". I cycle everywhere. To work, to the café, to the gym, to the supermarket... It's a good daily work-out, keeps you energetic and I just love feeling the wind through my hair!

    I got a bike this summer and it's literally the best thing I've done for myself. I ride to/from work each day and go for long rides on the weekends as much as possible. Besides being great exercise, it really is just an instant zap to happiness.

    I would love a bicycle too. Right now I am without a bike, so I walk, but biking would be so much more fun!

    Such a cute post! I'd love to tool around town in a flirty dress with a basket filled with pretty things but I am dangerous on a bicycle! So for the safety of the public, I do not own one. :) I had a very boho friend who used to leave hers in the middle of her dining room - this was ages ago - and I always thought it was very cool. This pics show she was ahead of her time.

    Wear a helmet! Even if the glam factor will drop slightly...

    Why yes, I have lots of advice. :) Beautiful bikes happen to be my specialty! The bike in your last picture is the Velorbis Dannebrog, which I recently test rode and reviewed here. All kinds of beautiful bikes here. And lots of bicycle advice all over. The best advice is to relax and have fun - bikes are fun! :)

    Farfallina and Brandie - thanks for the encouragement! I would love to cycle around feeling the wind in my hair! {I have family in Amsterdam and they also cycle everywhere!}
    Thanks for the helmet tip - I'm afraid I would definitely need one, it may interfere with the wind blowing in my hair a bit...

    Dottie - thanks for the amazing review. How fun to have tested the Verlobis Danneborg! That would be my dream bike!
