At home: Gwyneth Paltrow's Tribeca loft

Gwyneth Paltrow's New York loft designed by former set designers turned coveted interior designers Roman + Williams is quite fitting with the actress' 'classically elegant with a bit of an edge' style. Initially I was a little surprised, to see this space by these designers as typically I've seen more industrial or masculine spaces from them, however, given their set designing past, it actually is quite fitting that they would adjust quite readily to a new 'theme'. There's definitely a feeling of old Hollywood glamour, with soft pastels, intricate wallpaper and plush luxurious textures. However, the strong modern elements - like the bold black coffee table, and bits of Eastern influence that give the space a bit of modern edge. No doubt since the photos were taken upon completion, the space has warmed up even further with more personal touches - art, accessories and of course, toys.

Apparently one of Gwyneth's favourite pieces - the swing seat made from an antique Indian door is a piece of art all on its own.

The bedroom speaks of old Hollywood glamour, all in soft golds and plush upholstery. For some reason I can't really imagine Chris Martin in this room, but I could see Gwyneth being drawn to the classic luxurious. The intricate carved, gilded cupboards add a bit of exotic Eastern flair.

Probably my favourite room in the home - the beautiful, understated kitchen - all in carrera marble and white cabinetry (previously seen in her Vogue shoot here.) I've bookmarked this to save as future reference as a 'dream kichen'. I'm not sure if it does, but I'd love it if those big glass doors opened out onto a terrace to dine alfresco.

A breakfast nook in a soft lilac shade that's a little unexpected. No doubt the perfect place for dining the little ones.

Love the wide open spaces and the glam is just enough. But the Kitchen is the stealer ... wow wow wow to all that marble! Beautiful.

Beautiful home. Love the whimsy of the swing! And I adore, adore the look of carrera marble but I just really worry about how easy it is to stain.

Isn't the swing so fun? + such a great conversation piece!
L + L - the kitchen was my favourite, but Connie, must agree the carrera marble does have a high stain potential, you do really have to be ok with the well worn, lived in look...

I love GP, and her style. But i have to agree that I don't see a Chris Martin or a family in this space. It's all her, pale pink and all. That's the fun of having a couple of extra homes.:-) it's definitely a modern take on old hollywood.

We agree with Layers and Layers -- the kitchen is absolutely fabulous!! The swing is so clever and the big, black coffee is a great anchor to the living room. The perfect "edge" to balance out all the "pretty" !

What! She has an indoor swing! I want! And that bedroom is off the charts. It's a little cultural but classy.

I love so many of the elements of this apt but it seems like a 'bachelorette' pad with all of its feminine touches (its truly stunning though)!

This is just beautiful! I cannot get over the marble... it's one of those materials that no matter how often you might see it, it is unique and so beautiful in its own way. I LOVE how they have used it here—stunning!
